GIF not animated when using wax5-files

Post by John Schwartz »

Hello ICD

When exporting to a wax5-file for use in WebsiteX5/evo12, the gif images is not animated. The object is animated, but there is no movement in the GIF. It behaves like an image.

You can see an example here : http://bramminginfo.dk/index.html

I have made the same upload to : http://bramminginfo.dk/page-10.html Here I have afterwards "manually" FTP'ed
the "original" gif-image, and then it works.
I have used this method before, but it was better that the wax5 method worked properly!

It happens every time I use a gif. It is static when using the wax5-file.

I don't know if the error is in the Webanimator or in the WebsiteX5 - but I hope You can get it fixed.
You should be able to reproduce this error Yourself.

It is a pity that the only way ( I know to ) to animate an object, is using gif-images. It would be really useful if You could have multi-polygon objects, where Yoy could manipulate each polygon-point ( a simple form for freehand drawing ).
In the actual scene, I wanted to have the man bend down, but the only way I could think of, was splitting him in two objects, and this gave no good result.

Kind regards
John

Dear John,

Sorry that you had to wait so long for an answer, this post must have been overlooked all the time.

As far as I can see from what you have written here (and in you second port about this problem) it looks as if there's a little misunderstanding about the export functions of WA. WA can either export animations as (animated) GIF files (file ending .gif) or as export file for WebSiteX5 (file ending .wax).

If you want to used the GIF animation in WebSiteX5 you should be able to simply include the image into your site.

If you want to use the .wax export file, please follow the instructions given here on how to do that: https://answers.websitex5.com/post/108793
